Supaloc has signed on as the naming-rights sponsor for this year's inaugural Classic Targa Adelaide tarmac rally. The event will be known as Supaloc Classic Targa Adelaide for the next four years.

In 2011, the event will be open to cars over 20 years old, and held from September 14-17. The administration and operation of the event will be managed by the world-class Octagon company, which has developed an outstanding reputation for its organisation of other rallying events, such as Targa Tasmania.

According to Supaloc Managing Director Kevin Weeks, the decision to sponsor the Classic Targa Adelaide was driven by the professional organisation of the event and cross-pollination opportunities for the Supaloc brand.

“We're very excited to have the Classic Targa Adelaide in South Australia,” Weeks said. "Octagon are an extremely professional company, and they have built an outstanding reputation as the very best organisation for event marketing and management.

“We are very pleased to work with Mark Perry, the general manager for Octagon Events Australia, and also Naomi Tillet, the representative for South Australia.”

As well as sponsoring Classic Targa Adelaide, Kevin Weeks will also be aiming for victory in the event, driving his Supaloc Racing classic Porsche 911. The car has a new colour scheme.

The 2011 Supaloc Classic Targa Adelaide was officially launched today at Adelaide Showground.
