The terrible accident occurred yesterday afternoon on Stage 6 of the event near Kersbrook. On hearing of the incident, our true thought immediately turned to the friends and families of those involved and places the sport which we love into perspective.

The heat provided a significant challenge for crews and volunteers however the decision to retain the air-condition unit in the Supaloc EVO VIII was now not only paying dividends but also frustrating our competitors, with one offer of substituting his position in front of us for a 10 minute session in the cool!

The morning Stages also found the handling on the Supaloc EVO VIII was significantly enhanced with the Supaloc Suspension certainly living up to expectations on the tight and twisting stages of Hermitage and Chain of Ponds, however Stage 3 being open and high speed an adjustment was required to balance the car.

Adjustments were completed at the Lunch time Service break which transformed the handling and balance of the car. The stand out stage for the day was SS8 Castambul which although shortened by the Organisers certainly enabled the combination of car, navigator and driver to punch above their weight.
